Read a brief description of each project before jumping into the detailed descriptions in the following sections. These detailed descriptions will involve the Why, What and How of these projects and my contribution to them. If you simply wish to jump to the detailed descriptions of one of the projects randomly, just select any one of the below. The further you go down this list, my contribution to the projects leans more towards the software side.

Undergrad Projects

Robocon

The ABU Robocon is a robot competition which consists of a tournament in which 2 teams with 1 or more robot each are pitted against each other in 3 minute games. Typically within each country, many regional teams compete to decide who will represent the country in this competition. My college (undergrad) was an active (and successful) participant and I joined the team in 2015.

I first started out as a Fabricator in Robocon 2016, then worked as the Chief Mechanical Designer for Robocon 2017 and in my final year as an undergrad, I led the team as Captain for Robocon 2018 (Click the links to learn about those compeitions to see what they were, how we approached them and my contributions to the team).

These experiences truly kickstarted my robotics journey!

Pneuquad (Pneumatic Quadruped Robot)

This was a 4 legged pneumatic-actuated robot that we had built for our final year project (similar to MQP in the United States). It walked and it certainly wasn't easy to make it do so! More about this journey here!

Grad Projects

NASA Space Robotics Challenge (NASA-SRC)

The Space Robotics Challenge was organized to let teams compete to develop solutions to excavate the moon's surface for natural resources (volatiles). It consisted of 2 phases - Phase I was completed in 2017 and Phase II consisted of 2 rounds - qualification and competition. My university - Worcester Polytechnic Institute qualified for the competition round, one of the 22 teams making it from among the 114 contenders. The qualification round involved performing a series of well-defined tasks and the competition round was one big task to excavate the most amount of volatiles.

Bot Coture (Garment Automation)

I worked on this garment automation project as an Intern at Siemens. This was one of the more fun projects I did and you can find out about this journey here!
